Soup on a Broom

I was relaxing in the park this morning when I had the most BRILLIANT idea!

There I was sitting in the green, freshly cut grass when I noticed a long line of people standing around a truck. What could that be? – I wondered. I wandered over to get a better look and found that the truck was serving food!! Grilled cheese sandwiches to be exact – all different kinds. There was grilled cheese with tomatoes, grilled cheese with green peppers and onions and even grilled cheese made with chicken and waffles!

Hmm – I thought. I can do that….

Zanzibar looked at me with concern. “Everyone knows I love to cook, Zanz” I told him. “My cousin Brewse is an expert chef and the owner of the famous Cordon Black Cooking School and I’ve taken many classes there. I would love to travel around and share my food with people!”

Zanzibar said nothing but he gave me one of his “Heckerty has another mad idea” looks and trotted over to the broomstick. “Food on the broom,” he said. “How can we turn a broomstick into a broom-truck?”

He had a point.

“I’ve got to think up a food that everyone will love,” I said. “How about soup? It’s one of my very favorite things to make and how hard could it be? We could have sardine soup, frogs’ legs soup and snail surprise soup!”

“I think tomato basil might be a better choice,” murmured Zanzibar.

Now to just figure out a way to not spill the soup while riding the broomstick.

Do you think it’s a good idea?
